Sierra Sourced Updates:
Sierra Sourced continues to grow as the premier regional initiative highlighting the Sierra Nevada’s makers, growers, and producers. Since launching, Sierra Sourced has earned USDA approval, partnered with local chambers across the Sierra, and seen products like Sweet Water Farm & Ranch’s produce and Penny B’s Handcrafted Honey-Based Soap hit store shelves with the Sierra Sourced brand.
Farm to Fork dinners—like the recent successful event in Twain Harte—are just one way Sierra Sourced connects communities with the people behind their food and goods. Sierra Sourced has also received $148,500 in grant funding through California Jobs First to further develop the program throughout the 7-county region. (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Mono, & Inyo).
As the roster of Sierra-made businesses expands, Sierra Sourced is becoming a recognized regional brand that channels tourist dollars, strengthens local supply chains, and helps small businesses gain the same visibility as larger national brands.
