From Here to There; Touring Art Exhibit Opens Call for Art
In a unique collaboration between leading arts organizations across
seven counties, artists who reside in Amador, Alpine, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono
and Tuolumne Counties are invited to submit artworks for an interdisciplinary arts show
facilitated by the Sierra Seven Art that will tour the region, showing at multiple locations
between February and August, 2026.
The Sierra Seven Arts Alliance is a newly formed collaborative network serving the
Central and Eastern Sierra region and consists of the following arts services
organizations: Arts and Culture Alpine County, Amador County Arts Council, C5 Studios
Community Arts Center, Inyo Council for the Arts, Mariposa County Arts Council, Mono
Arts Council, and Tuolumne County Arts Alliance. The inaugural collaborative project
undertaken by the network will connect the seven counties of the Sierra region in a
unique touring art exhibition that will travel to locations in each of the participating
counties.
Aptly titled From Here to There, the exhibition will offer participating artists an exciting
opportunity to have their work shown in multiple venues throughout the region, providing
increased exposure to new audiences and communities while contributing to building a
stronger, more connected cultural landscape for the Sierras and giving locals and
visitors alike a glimpse into the hearts and minds of artists and creatives who call the
Sierra region home.
In their Call for Art, the Sierra Seven Arts Alliance presents this
invitation thus: “The arts have the power to reveal and celebrate the connections that
weave through the Central and Eastern Sierra: our grand landscapes, unique
bioregions, diverse communities, small and intimate perspectives, and future
aspirations. Artists play a vital role in illuminating these connections, large and small,
tangible and intangible. Through your creative work, you help tell the stories that define
this place and deepen the relationship and reverence for our home.”
The Sierra Seven Arts Alliance is inviting submissions of work from all artistic disciplines
from living artists residing in or maintaining strong community ties to Inyo, Mono, Alpine,
Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, or Mariposa Counties. Submissions will be accepted
through an online form between October 10th and November 28th, 2025. Artwork will be
adjudicated and curated by a regional panel. A complete CALL-FOR-ART with details
on submission requirements can be found here.
Interested artists can contact their local Sierra Seven Arts Alliance member for more
information.
The Sierra Seven Arts Alliance is funded through Sierra Jobs First, a regional initiative
working towards high-quality job growth, climate resilience, and economic prosperity in
Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono and Tuolumne counties. The Sierra
Seven Arts Alliance will provide a regional network to build capacity and provide peer
support for organizations with pertinent issues such as fundraising, advocacy, economic
development, strategic planning and marketing.
