Through their work serving as the Rec & Tourism Industry Sector Coordinators, MLTPA and Sierra Wave Media have been convening the “Sierra Works Sustainable Recreation & Tourism Working Group” since last November. These Working Group meetings have highlighted key themes in the Sierra Jobs First 2024 Strategic Plan, while hearing directly from on-the-ground project stakeholders about how those themes are affecting their projects and revealing opportunities to strengthen our work as a region.
From seven completed “Working Group” meetings, they’ve now gleaned and extracted a draft set of “Recommendations for Implementation and Collaborative Action,” a draft “Sierra RICA.” It’s now time for your engagement and feedback.
The Coordinators have prepared the following:
- The online Feedback Tool invites you to rank each Goal and its Action Steps, and offers an optional opportunity to share your thoughts on what’s working, what’s missing, or what might need sharpening.
- The RICA Companion Guide is an offline document listing all four Goals and their supporting Action Steps for your reference outside the online environment.
- You can review all of the Meeting Materials from the seven meetings of the “Sierra Works Sustainable Recreation & Tourism Working Group” by visiting the web page.
As you participate and offer feedback, please prioritize your project work and that of your partners. Ask yourself: To what extent will a particular Goal or Action Step advance projects as we work together to implement sustainable outdoor recreation, sustainable tourism, and arts and culture initiatives in the region?
Please submit your feedback by Monday, July 6.
