Investing in Our Shared Future

The Eastern Sierra Community Foundation project will evaluate the readiness, structure, and long-term viability of establishing a regional community foundation in the Eastern Sierra—California’s only region not yet served by such an entity.

Despite the presence of over 500 nonprofits dedicated to supporting local needs, the region lacks a sustainable, community-rooted philanthropic infrastructure to bolster the nonprofit ecosystems across Mono and Inyo County.

Grounded in community input, collaboration, and community foundation best practices, the project will unfold in two key phases: a Feasibility Study to assess potential models and readiness, followed by an Implementation Roadmap to outline the path forward.

This is a unique and transformative opportunity to create a lasting, place-based philanthropic entity that amplifies the values, voices, and aspirations of Eastern Sierra communities while strengthening the nonprofit ecosystem across Inyo and Mono Counties.
