Governing Council Appointees

The Governing Council and Subcommittee members were selected via an application process during 2023 with priorities in geographically equitable representation, and an unlimited number of seats for Council members of color or belonging to tribes. More information regarding the Governance Structure can be found in the Council Governance section. Members of either the Council or a Subcommittee must reside within the 7-county region. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Collaborative, please contact SBC at jobsfirst@sierrabusiness.org. The application can be found here.

The Appointee Selection Criteria include:

  1. Must be a full-time resident of the 7-county Eastern Sierra region
  2. Elected officials cannot serve on the Governing Council, but may serve on any subcommittee and attend public meetings
  3. Must have experience collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds
  4. Must agree to the basic tenants of the California Jobs First Program: Equity, Inclusion, Transparency, Sustainability, and Impact
  5. Priority appointments go to applicants of the BIPOC community, tribal members, folks with English as a second language
  6. Second-priority appointments go to applicants who represent CBOs or grassroots organizations, labor organizations, folks who reside in a “high poverty area” or “high unemployment area”

Linked below are the appointed Council members. The Subcommittees have an open ex-officio membership, and every participant may not be listed here. If you are an active subcommittee member and would like to be added to this list, please contact SBC.
